Sheraton Universal Review

Because of its large meeting spaces and veteran staff, this Sheraton buzzes year-round. Business types come for the high-tech extras like automated check-in, convenient in-room coffeemaker with to-go cup, and numerous business services. Families appreciate the big pool and free shuttle to adjacent Universal Studios and CityWalk. Rooms are in cool blues and browns with flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations, oversize desks, and swiveling office chairs.

Clean, modern hotel in close proximity to Universal Studios. Not a stand-out option overall or convenient for other LA tourist attractions, but the name of the hotel says it all.

Our experience was negatively colored by two issues: 1. They pump (strong, cheap smelling) perfume into the lobby! Gross regardless of how you feel about perfume. It drifts up to other areas of the hotel and we are both a bit allergic.

    2. We experienced a billing issue and spent literally weeks trying to get the hotel's billing department to call us back to even begin addressing the issue. Once, they answered their phone (apparently by mistake) then immediately hung up on me! It took a call to Sheraton corporate to get them to do their job and fix the problem.

Others may have a more positive experience (or take a more favorable view towards the skank stench), however, I'd have to recommend checking out the Hilton nearby before you book here.
