Sports Venues, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
There was a time when the Montréal Canadiens almost seemed to own the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup. After each winning season in the 1960s and '70s, city hall would put out a press release announcing the "Stanley Cup parade will follow the usual route." Those days are long gone. Les Glorieux (or "the glorious ones"), as the fans call the team, haven't won a cup since 1993, and the superstitious blame it on their 1996 move from the hallowed Forum to the brown-brick Centre Bell. Despite a dearth of championship seasons, the Canadiens remain the city's favorite professional sports team. Guided tours usually include a visit to the Canadiens' dressing room.
