Fodor's Expert Review Entreamigos

In 2011 the cofounder and creative director of Cirque du Soleil, Gilles Ste-Croix, and his wife Monique Voyer created Entreamigos with the children of a local community theater to raise money for their programs. This was made possible with the support of Cirque du Soleil, which donated training equipment; friends and artists who came from Canada; the company Cirrus Cirkus; and more than 100 local volunteers. Currently, more than 140 children are enrolled in Circo de los Niños programs. Apart from obtaining space for its school, Circo de los Niños operates a cultural center open to proposals from individual performers and groups interested in participating. There are annual fundraising shows every March, so if you're in town when it happens make sure you attend to support a good cause.
