Puerto Aventuras

While the rest of the coast has been caught up in a development furor, the small community of Puerto Aventuras has been quietly doing its own thing. It's become a popular vacation spot, particularly for families—although it's certainly not the place to experience authentic Yucatecan culture. The 900-acre self-contained resort is built around a 95-ship marina. It has a beach club, golf course, tennis courts, restaurants, and a great dive center. Children may enjoy the dolphin-training center or the nautical museum.
