Skiing and Snowboarding

The region's ski area centers around 14 gondolas and lifts going up Scuol's Motta Naluns, at elevations between 4,100 and 9,184 feet. The 70 km (43½ miles) of trails include the 10-km (6-mile) Traumpiste (Dream Run), a good run of medium difficulty with a few tough areas. There is a wide range of ski passes available for an equally wide range of prices, beginning at 57 SF for a one-day pass. Tarasp has one short ski lift for beginners. Bus transport between Scuol–Sent and Scuol–Tarasp-Vulpera is free of charge if you have a ski pass.

Snowboarding is extremely popular on these broad, sunny slopes. There are also 77 km (48 miles) of prepared cross-country tracks around Scuol. Rental equipment is available at sports shops in Scuol and next to the Motta Naluns cable-car station.

Kinderland Nalunsin. Children can find snowy excitement at the Kinderland Nalunsin, a combination ski school and day care center. Scuol, Graubünden. 081/8611723. From 8 SF per hour; 40 SF per day; additional 10 SF for lunch.
