Hotel Carabeo Review

Down a side street near the center of town but still near the sea, this British-owned boutique hotel combines a great location and views with comfortable, pleasant rooms. You'll find shelves of books, antiques, and cozy overstuffed sofas in the downstairs sitting room. Hung throughout are colorful oil paintings by the local artist David Broadhead. There are seven rooms—five with sea views (well worth the extra)—and a private terrace overlooking the sea. The excellent restaurant serves a mix of contemporary and traditional dishes such as prawns in a garlic-and-oil-based pil pil sauce and chicken tagine—you can dine on the extended terrace with sea views. The hotel is generally closed from late fall through early spring, but check for exact dates.
