Katerina-City

Katerina-City Review

Near the river and Riverside Towers, one of the city's main business centers, this small Swedish-run hotel is popular with European business travelers. The hotel occupies a renovated prerevolutionary mansion and a modern eight-story annex. In the comfortable modern rooms, dark-blue furniture complements the yellow-fabric-covered walls, which are lined with watercolors. The staff is friendly and helpful. Views of the picturesque Moskva River and New Savior Monastery are splendid. Guests who stay on the Privileged Floor can relax in a cozy lounge with a fireplace and cigars. The Stockholm restaurant, serving traditional Scandinavian and Russian cuisine, is a big plus. Pros: tasty breakfast; fast and cheap Internet. Con: during rush hour, the walk to the metro station and the metro itself may be unpleasantly congested with people.
