Loos

Loos Review

In the grand style of Rotterdam's cafés, Loos has a range of international magazines and newspapers on its reading racks, and in a fun gesture, six clocks with different time zones decorate one wall. You enter and see what looks like a forest of tables, but this trompe l'oeil effect is largely caused by a wall-size mirror. As for the food, some dishes are excellent, including such delights as roasted-pepper-and-smoked-apple soup with aniseed cream, monkfish with truffle-butter sauce, and steak with Armagnac-soaked raisins and a duck-liver-and-truffle sauce. If you want to eat less luxuriously, try the bar menu.
