Eden Amsterdam American Hotel

Eden Amsterdam American Hotel Review

This landmark was designed by Willem Kromhout in 1902. He grafted Neo-Gothic turrets, Jugendstil gables, Art Deco windows, and a charming freestyle clock tower onto a proto–Amsterdam School structure. Its famed Art Deco–style Café Americain, where Mata Hari held her wedding reception, went from bohemian to being boycotted when it banned hippies in the 1960s. Today, it remains the perfect place for a spot of tea.
