Eden Amsterdam American Hotel

Eden Amsterdam American Hotel Review

This landmark was designed by Willem Kromhout in 1902. He grafted Neo-Gothic turrets, Jugendstil gables, Art Deco windows, and a charming freestyle clock tower onto a proto-Amsterdam School structure. Its famed Art Deco-style Café Americain, where Mata Hari held her wedding reception, went from bohemian to being boycotted when it banned hippies in the 1960s. Today, it remains the perfect place for a spot of tea.
