The Hollandsche Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam or "De Hema" as it's called by locals, stocks not only your basic needs, but also some surprisingly hip designer items – and for the friendliest of prices. Cosmetics, vitamins, undergarments, and power tools are some of the best bargains, and the chain is cherished for its store-brand sausage and coveted cakes.
