An ideal stop for lunch or dinner after strolling Dam Square, this classic Amsterdam restaurant next to the Magna Plaza Shopping Center underwent a radical refresh in 2015 and now has brightly colored decor, including splashes of orange (the city's signature hue), modern brasserie-style furnishings, and an international and eclectic range of dishes from bouillabaisse to quinoa salad. One item that remains on the menu are the "numbered" steaks, which have been served here since 1870---the restaurant has now sold nearly 6 million. If the steak you order happens to end with the numbers "00," you'll get a free bottle of house wine.
