Grevenmacher

City
ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Grevenmacher is one of the largest towns along the Moselle river. Founded in the 7th century, it eventually became a medieval fortress, and a castle tower still dominates the area. Modern-day Gravenmacher is a crossroads between Luxembourg and Germany, and there is often more German spoken in the streets and shops than French or Luxembourgish. The cobblestone alleys are charming and full of historical secrets; a self-guided walking tour starting at the church is available from the Hôtel de Ville.
