Ca' Gottardi
Strada Nova, Cannaregio 2283, Venice, Veneto, 30121, Italy, Venice, ItalyWhy We Like It
Ca’ Gottardi is a bit different from other Venice hotels, with its modern Venetian look in a charming small package. If you want to stay somewhere intimate, with personalized service, in a serene location, give it a look.
Fodor's Expert Review
More like a boutique B&B than a hotel, Ca’ Gottardi is set in a 15th-century palace and has a traditional vibe mixed with modern art, giving it a unique feel unlike any other place in Venice. It’s a bit off-the-beaten-path, in the residential Cannaregio neighborhood, but only a short walk to the Grand Canal, from where you can pretty much sail anywhere.
You Should Know If you have issues with stairs, you may want to stay elsewhere, as you’ll need to climb to reach the reception as well as the rooms.

Many of the rooms are small but cute, in rich colors and fabrics and with chandeliers and parquet floors. They still look Venetian but with a more contemporary touch—perfect for those who don’t like the more traditional heavy-handed style.
Tip Some guest rooms have no views, so check before you commit.
Bathroom
Bathrooms are pretty standard and include hydro-massage showers.
Lobby
Ca’ Gottardi’s lobby, with beamed ceilings and modern art on the walls, is a good intro to the mix of traditional and contemporary you’ll find within.
Dining
Ca’ Gottardi doesn’t have a restaurant, but a full buffet breakfast is served in the modern breakfast room.
