Fodor's Expert Review J. K. Place
Via Provinciale Marina Grande 225, Capri, Campania, 80073, Italy Fodor's Choice
Occupying an 1876 villa above Marina Grande harbor, southern Italy's most glamorous hotel makes other Capri accommodations seem dull. Public spaces have nautical blue walls and white Corinthian columns—set off by vintage photographs, 19th-century bronzes, and white-linen wing armchairs—but guest rooms have a modern Hamptons-meets-Mediterranean vibe, with billowing white drapes, four-poster beds, and 1940s French commodes. Outside, a regal stone sphinx presides over teak-lined bay-side terraces; across a small lawn, flowering fruit trees shade the gargantuan pool. Nonguests can use the spa and gym services.
