Leontine Haines presides over this 1803 inn next to picture-perfect, grandly gracious Killyleagh Castle (reputedly the longest-inhabited castle in Ireland and most probably the country's prettiest). Rooms in the low-slung, yellow building are quaint, lush, and cozy, with four-poster beds. The bar next door has a rustic feel to it with friendly snugs (cubicles) and Cajun and jazz music keeping things lively. Pros: ideally located for exploring Strangford Lough and its many attractions; good value for money. Cons: with the proximity to the pub, noise can be a problem; long way to go if you want the bright city lights.
