Fatsio

Fatsio Review

Don't be fooled by the Italian name: the food at this old-fashioned restaurant is all home-style Greek, albeit with an Eastern influence. Walk past the kitchen and point at what you want before taking a seat. Favorites include a "soufflé" that is actually a variation on baked macaroni-and-cheese, with pieces of ham and slices of beef and a topping of eggplant and tomato sauce. The flavorful pasta-based dish pastitsio (meat pie with macaroni and béchamel sauce) is another customer-favorite. Quick service and good value for the money are the reasons for Fatsio's enduring popularity (since 1948) among both elder Kolonaki residents and office workers seeking an alternative to fast food.
