Fodor's Review

Featuring inspired recipes—and many ingredients—from the southern Peloponnese's Mani region, Manimani strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and heartiness. Located in a converted neoclassic residence, the decor has the relaxed precision of an upscale home-decor catalog (a gauzy drape or rag rug here, a beautiful glass vase there), but the food and extensive regional wine list quickly take center stage. It's comfort food that sweetly screams "village"—from the kayiana omelet with citrus-flavored sausage to the regional noodles and rich salads. The chef adds delicate new fruity or spicy touches to dishes and embraces organic products at this spot just around the corner from the Acropolis metro. It's also open for late lunch (kitchen opens at 2:30), which makes it the perfect pit-stop after visiting the Acropolis and its museum.
