Gasteig Culture Center Review

This world-class concert hall is in the Gasteig Culture Center, a hugely expensive, not particularly beautiful brick complex standing high above the Isar River, east of downtown. Its Philharmonic Hall is the permanent home of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the largest concert hall in Munich. Gasteig also hosts the occasional English-language work. It hosts the annual book fair and numerous other events and celebrations. The sizeable open kitchen Gast (www.gast-muenchen.de), part of the Gasteig complex, is a good option for a range of quick foods, from Thai curries to pizzas.
