What better place for the Museum of Erotic Art than smack in the heart of the city's red-light district? Though the subject matter is a bit limited, the collection is a respectable mix of world art, such as carvings from Africa, Indonesia, and Peru; Chinese ivories; and Japanese prints. There are racy cartoons by Robert Crumb and photographs of Pigalle prostitutes and bordellos, some quite chic, from the 1930s and 40s. Three floors are dedicated to temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists and photographers. There's a "forbidden film" section of old-time pornography and scenes cut from films from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s (it's mostly a tease to get you to buy the DVD that's available for sale in the gift shop).
