La Cave Gourmande

$$$$, Bistro, La Villette

User Rating: ***** 5.0

Fodor's Review:

In the space that once housed Eric Frechon, who now heads the kitchens at Le Bristol, chef Mark Singer continues to draw crowds to this out-of-the-way neighborhood with inventive bistro cooking. Wine racks and wooden tables give the room a local bistro feel belied by dishes such as a leek and shellfish terrine in a light curry sauce, or pike perch with chorizo. Singer makes astute use of spices and exotic ingredients, and his prix-fixe menu (EUR 31 at lunch and EUR 36 at dinner) changes every few weeks.

Memorable meal

Chef Mark Singer only uses the freshest seasonal ingredients to make astounding meals. The restaurant has been open Saturday evenings now as well, since October 2006. Worth a trip to this lesser visited area of Paris.
