This gorgeous, ivy-covered Georgian manor house overlooking manicured lawns and rolling hills is a real find. Lovely rooms, some of which have original 19th-century fireplaces, are bright and spacious. The restaurant serves excellent Modern British cuisine, with ingredients from the hotel's own gardens. Also on the grounds is a pool with a sunny terrace. If you prefer even more privacy, opt for the self-catering Dowager's Cottage. The Old Rectory is in Thorpe St. Andrew, just 2 miles east of the town center (about a 10-minute taxi ride).
