Ladera Resort
The elegantly rustic Ladera Resort, perched 1,000 feet above the sea directly between the two Pitons, is one of the most sophisticated small inns in the Caribbean but, at the same time, takes a local eco-friendly approach to furnishings, food, and service. Each tree house–style Piton Suite—and seven units categorized as luxurious Dream Suites—are decorated with colonial antiques and artisan furniture crafted at the on-site carpentry shop; each unit also has an open fourth wall, with that dazzling Pitons view as a backdrop for a private plunge pool. Couple's and Swedish massages are offered in-suite and are among the treatments available at Ladera's 18,000-square-foot spa. Complimentary one-hour yoga sessions are offered on weekdays, and guests are invited to hike to the top of Ladera Ridge and to wander the Ladera Wellness Gardens that provide produce and spices for Dasheene Restaurant. Dasheene, an open-air venue, has an excellent menu along with that awesome view. Don't miss the stunning Ladera Treehouse, set in a 500-year-old mango tree, outfitted with swings, sofas, and hammocks (and just below it: an outdoor gym.) A complimentary beach shuttle runs throughout the day. Due to the physical setting and the ambience, the resort does not permit children under age 18.
