Palma Real Shopping Village Review

A standout among the region's shopping centers, Palma Real Shopping Village is a swanky, partially enclosed mall (similar to something you would see in southern California). Fountains and tropical plants infuse life into the bright and airy interiors beneath the blue-tile roof. Music pipes through the stone-floor plaza in the center, where seating is available and security is tight. Upscale retail shops, which sell beachwear, clothing, skin-care products, and jewelry, line the walls. Several restaurants give visitors welcome dining alternatives beyond the gates of their resorts. There's also a movie theater, the only one in Punta Cana. There are two banks, ATMs, and a money exchange outlet. Stores are open 10–10, but the restaurants stay open later. It has the best pharmacy in the area. Shuttle buses run to and from many of the hotels, with pick-ups every two hours.

    Palma Real Shopping Village Review

What a waste of time and money this place was! I saw they had 'free shuttles' from certain resorts, unfortunately not including ours. The roundtrip cab fare was $40! Not worth it at all. We ended up going to Cigs Afficionados, and bought some Cohibas there. The clerk was unfriendly, uninterested and borderline rude. My boyfriend speaks fluent Spanish, so it's not like there was a language barrier. We bought a box of Cohibas for $70, and later that night saw the same ones for sale at our resort for $54! What a rip off! The other stores in there are subpar, unless you can get a free shuttle from your resort, skip this place.
