Little Pomander Guest House Review

This lovely, welcoming guest house with lush gardens is in the perfect location, not right in town but close enough to walk. The circa-1600 house—one of the island's oldest— is on a quiet one-way residential street that edges along a narrow inlet of Hamilton Harbour. The backside of the cottage has a lawn looking over the water to town; lawn chairs are set out and some guests make use of the barbecue. One much-requested room has a patio with steps leading down to the lawn. Another room with water views is divided by a large unlikely bulge—which turns out to be the house's old stove. Quirkiness ends at breakfast—with its humble selection of cereal, bagels, and toast.
