Double D's

Double D's Review

Don't let the dark-tinted windows and green lighting over the doorway put you off. Inside you'll find a simply decorated bar offering friendly service and good native food. This is a popular spot with locals for its Bahamian cuisine and 23-hour service in a town where most kitchens are closed at 10 pm. Try boil' fish—a peppery lime-based broth filled with chunks of boiled potatoes, onions, and grouper—or be adventurous and order a bowl of pig-feet or sheep-tongue souse. Although souplike, these Bahamian delicacies are typically served only for breakfast. All come with a chunk of johnnycake or a bowl of steaming white grits.
