Getting Here and Around

Travelers reach Hue with air connections from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, or via a two-hour drive from Danang. Tour company Sinh Café runs sleeper buses twice daily between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with a stop in Hue. Public buses from major cities arrive at An Cuu Station from the south and An Hoa Station from the north. There's no shortage of taxis in Hue, but make sure you hail the green Mai Linh or yellow Vang cabs. Rates start at 14,000d.

The most pleasant way to explore Hue is by bicycle, which can be rented for 50,000d a day from hotels and guesthouses. Adventurous travelers might enjoy exploring by cyclo (three-wheeled bike taxi) or xe om (motorbike taxi). Rates vary, so don't be afraid to negotiate.
