The staff is proud to point out that King Bhumibol Adulyadej has spent the night here; a vast building with a subtle contemporary Thai look, including a typical stepped roof. Rooms are large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, though the highly varnished rattan bed frames and chairs look kind of tacky. The airy central atrium and the pool are welcome sights after a day exploring the dusty ruins. It's halfway between New Sukhothai and the Old City, so transport can
be a problem.
