Banana Leaf Apolo
Banana Leaf Apolo Review
Rub elbows with the locals at this cafeteria-style restaurant, which specializes in fish-head curry (the most expensive dish is S$18-S$25, depending on the size). The food is good and downright spicy—you may wind up with tears in your eyes. You'll be given a large piece of banana leaf with steaming rice, two papadam, and two vegetables, with delicious spiced sauces. If it gets too spicy for you, ask for some curd (traditional yogurt) or raita (yogurt with cucumber) to cool things down. Eating with your hands is encouraged, but cutlery is available.
