These neighboring shopping, office, and dining mega-complexes have brought some much-needed retail dazzle to the area. Between the two of them are about 300 stores, covering clothing, jewelry, housewares, and more that appeal to a very contemporary customer. The Shin-Marunouchi complex is especially pleasant: it's largely European in style, including arching steel and high windows, and the wood-deck terrace on the seventh floor is the best choice for a bite, as it affords

a very nice view of Tokyo Station. For the weary, public areas have a massive number of benches—a rarity in Tokyo.
