Fodor's Review:

This museum displays a wide array of traditional Kyoto crafts, including lacquerware, pottery, jewelry, and kimonos. The museum hosts educational crafts-making demonstrations, and even has a shop with crafts souvenirs. A model interior of a traditional town house is in the basement. From the Dobutsu-en-mae bus stop, head down the street leading to Heian Jingu. The museum is inside the torii on the west side, after the National Museum of Modern Art.
