Air Travel

All international and domestic airlines use Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, colloquially called Dum Dum Airport, 15 km (9 miles) north of the city. The terminal has prepaid taxi services; a ride downtown takes about 30 minutes and costs around Rs. 400. You can also book online with some of the fleet operators for an airport pickup or drop-off. Air-conditioned Volvo buses also service the airport from various parts of the city; these cost Rs. 40 or more. Bus service runs from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm.
