Fodor's Review

A low-rise, traditional-style modern complex that abuts Dubai Creek and the Bastakia Quarter, the Diwan (or Ruler's Court) is the main meeting place for several government bodies. The architecture dates back to the Mamluk Islamic period, found across North Africa and the Arabian Gulf, from the 13th to the 16th century. This building is not open to the public.
