Dawar El Omda

Dawar El Omda Review

The name of this hotel within the Qafr means "the mayor's house," and that is its theme, with decorative touches depicting 19th-century Cairene styling. The small reception area is lighted by a massive old brass and copper lantern, and the tables in the dining room are made of heavy wood. The pool seems to spill over into the canal, and views are gorgeous. The rooms are cozy, and each has a balcony overlooking the canal and pool.Visit the Blue Bar for its exquisite decor of Iznik tiles, and be sure to check out El Gouna's smallest restaurant, the seven-seat El Tablja.
