The Renaissance will never win any design rewards; in fact, those with a love of period buildings or an eye for ultracontemporary architecture will find this late-20th-century tower rather dreary, but don't judge the hotel by its outer covering. The interior is a different story, as it has received a face-lift since the hotel opened and has kept pace with current trends. Gold and terra-cotta highlights against ivory walls make for a soothing color scheme in rooms. The hotel is especially popular with weekending Cairenes and business travelers.
