No one likes a good food pairing more than we do, but if the standard wine-and-cheese matchings are getting a bit dull, check out the Art of Food, happening Saturday, February 4 in New York City. Legendary art auction house Sotheby's will host the festival, now in its second year. Inspired by the many art pieces that have linked food and art (think Andy Warhol’s soup cans and all those Renaissance-era still lifes of fruit), Art of Food brings together samplings from some of the top restaurants in Manhattan. Their chefs have created dishes especially for the event, all inspired by works of art that are going up for auction at Sotheby's in March.
Enjoy dishes from Candle 79, Crave Fishbar, Magnolia Bakery, The Meatball Shop, Shake Shack, and more (along with complimentary wine and spirits) while getting a glimpse of artwork from Jeff Koons, Ed Ruscha, Yayoi Kusama, Alexander Calder, and more. Tickets are $105 (a portion of the proceeds goes to City Harvest).
