Not volunteering to track down the URLs for all of these - - but part 1 of OT's trip report is http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34466659 - - and all the other seven parts have a link, successively from one to the next.

Best wishes,

Rex

I'm breaking the Europe rule right away but one of my favourite posts of the year (if indeed it was this year) was your very own Alaska report, Oaktown.

degas (where is he lately?) posted and refined several well-researched walks/itineraries for various Paris neighborhoods.

I can't find them all, but here is the one for the Marais

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34519236

I would also add ira's Helpful Information for Italy but it stared in 2003
Oh heck, here it is anyway, it certainly found its legs in 2004

I like the European travel/culture trivia crossword game. It’s an outlet for my restlessness and keeps me from going brain dead during the many months when travel is just a distant memory. The game was started by BrimhamRocks in summer 2003, but has kept going on and on since then, with game threads #3 through 12 active during 2004. Players have come and gone, and various people have been obsessed with it for a few days, weeks, or months at a stretch. I’m not sure whether I should be embarrassed to admit I’ve been playing this since about the second week after it was invented. Here are the threads where the game was played in 2004 (when one thread gets too big we start a new one, continuing the same game):

Thanks Rex for the link. Thanks for the compliments everybody...

It does take time to scroll down through the pages. I cheated and picked from the 2004's that I was involved in...I do know how to click on my moniker!

Come on...I know their are some gems not listed. SMILE

I don't remember if it was 2003 or 2004, but the thread around the time of the Emmys where Fodorites awarded each other with honors was hilarious!

My all-time favorite is Molvania:

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...hText=molvania

Another fave is "Don't want to get arrested at the airport." It wasn't started this year, but deserves an honorable mention.

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...at+the+airport

One more, called, "My girlfriend wants to change her birth year on her new passport."

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...at+the+airport

Great thread, Oaktown Traveler!!

Ok, my own (and only) never-ending trip report aside, I remembered a few I could pull up.

The original hen party post aka "My lunatic sister in law is marrying a virtual stranger in Venice. Do I have to go to the hen night in Barcelona as well?"
http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...p;tid=34499938

"What if I Die on My Trip?"
http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...p;tid=34535023

Why "America" instead of "United States of America"?
http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...p;tid=34543498

"Where's Brussels?
http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...p;tid=34533958

Hey, thanks elaine! You wrote a lot of stuff there -- more than I did.
