Withdrawing cash to buy a car

Morning everyone

I'm in the USA trying to buy a car off Craigslist, but I'm limited by a £500 daily limit at the ATM.

I've got the dollars on a Revolut currency card, does anyone know of any US services, maybe Western Union, that would let me withdraw that cash?

Isn't one of the options w/ Revolut that you can transfer funds? Couldn't you merely transfer the $$/££ in to the seller's bank account . . .

I'm not convinced it's a proposition the suspicious citizens of Craigslist will take kindly too, as they're normally fairly cash centric

Of course they wouldn't give you the pink slip (nor likely the keys) until the cash lands in their account. AFAIK Western Union has a very low limit -- I believe $2500.

(BTW If you are paying over $10,000 there are Cash Transaction Report regulations no matter how you manage to do the deal)

Paying 6k max or the car so that might be good
Any alternatives to them? Do they take a big cut from your experience?

I used Western Union to send money to Myanmar and it was much less expensive than wiring the money from my bank or getting a foreign bank draft.

Talked to WU, $500 limit, Bank of America said they might be able to help but weren't sure what fees I'd take on

No advice about the money, but hope you know enough and have enough experience with cars to be sure that you are getting a good one.

Another warning.
Showing up with that much cash can be a far bigger risk than getting a bad car.

There may be no car but a few big, not so nice guys waiting to roll you.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHERE YOU AGREE TO MEET FOR EXCHANGE OF CASH & CAR.

Bring along a very large strapped friend, and have him carry the cash... Come on man, haven't you been following "Better Call Saul"...
