Why Are There No Bad Hawaiian Words?
I have a theory -- the Hawaiian language is made up as they go along. Everything means something like "garden of beauty" or "heavenly paradise". How come there are no bad words? Is it possible to call someone a "dirty ratbag" in Hawaiian??
Just curious.

Well, I didn't find "dirty ratbag", but there appear to be plenty of derisive words in the Hawaiian language. Here are a few I found with a web search:
Hûpô! [HOO' POH'] or Hûpô o nâ hûpô [HOO' POH' oh NAH' HOO' POH'] Fool! Stupid! Literally, swelling darkness.
Lapuwale [lah' poo vah' leh] Good-for-nothing! Worthless! Wretch! Scoundrel! Lapu means ghost, phantom.
Lôlô [LOH' LOH'] Stupid! Dumb! Lôlô means paralyzed, numb, feeble-minded, stupid.
Pupule [poo poo' leh] Sometimes pûpule [POO' poo leh] for emphasis. Crazy! Pupule means crazy, insane, reckless, wild.
Pelapela [peh' lah peh' lah] Filthy! Pelapela means filthy, dirty, nasty, indecent, unclean, vulgar, lewd, obscene.
Pa`akikî [pah' ah kee KEE'] Hardhead! Stubborn! Difficult! Pa`akikî means hard, tough, unyielding, arbitrary, inflexible, difficult, stubborn, obstinate.
Moloâ [moh loh (W)AH'] Lazy bones! Moloâ means lazy, indolent.
And my personal favorite:
Maka hiamoe [mah' kah hee (y)ah moe' !] Sleepyhead!
