Where to stay: December in Jackson WY

Want to plan Christmas vacation in Jackson Hole area. Any suggestions? I'll check VRBO, but would like to hear about any favorite inns, B&Bs or condos, etc., from you travelers. It will be only me and my husband.

Hi Alice! The Four Seasons is the BEST place to stay;however, it is pricy. It is located in Teton Village right outside of the town of Jackson.

Hi Alice,

I assume you are going to ski? If so, I would stay in Teton Village rather than in town.

It's always a debate whether to stay in town or at the ski area, but if you will be skiing most days, I like to be where it's more convenient to get on the mountain. If you stay in town, you have to either take the bus or drive to the resort and find parking, neither of which is very fun.

No specific recs on where to stay as I stay with friends when I go.

I recently stayed in the Tensleep Condominium, which is a couple of blocks from the base of the gondola. Cost was about $150/night for a 1 bedroom unit with a wood stove. It was clean and had a small kitchen. There's a whole range of choices available through the Jackson Hole central reservations website. They were very helpful, and have never steered me wrong. There's a shuttle bus that runs you to the mountain every 15 minutes, although you could walk it in about 10 minutes.

Thanks very much, all of you. I'll check out the central reservations service. Alice

We stayed at the Alpenhof and it was wonderful. There is bus service between Teton Village and the town that was fast and convenient.
