Any preferences on geographic locations? Within or outside the U.S.? Fly or drive? Like to walk or rely on public transit? Interests, etc.. Please give us more information.

I'd also add Chicago to starrs list.

Charleston South Carolina -- fun shopping, many great day tours -- from pub crawls, gardens, kayaking, cooking classes.

New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Charleston, or Las Vegas.

New York, San Francisco, Seattle, or Los Angeles (if you're willing to rent a car).

I agree with ladystack. I live outside Charleston. It's REALLY friendly, easy to walk, and gorgeous.

New York City is great too. No car needed, and shopping like no where else in the world.

I would go to Manhattan and stay at the Franklin Hotel on the UES.

The shops of the SUPERRICH are ready for picking on Madison Avenue.

A nice restaurant in that nabe is Cafe D'Alsace on Second Avenue.

You could visit the Frick (my fav NY musee), take a stroll in Central Park, and have fab coffee and apple strudel at Cafe Sabarsky (Neue Museum).

Another vote for NY, SF, Boston, Chicago and/or Seattle! You don't mention from what city you're coming, Ladykk......

DC. Great museums, and they all have gift shops.

I would recommend The Oaks at Ojai, a destination spa in Ojai (near Santa Barbara) that has very reasonable rates - you can even request a roomie to bring your rate down even further.

The great thing about the Oaks is that if you're alone, there are tons of people with which to hang out. I've been going for 8 years and I've made some really good friends there, now we all plan our vacations together. The Oaks has great, healthy food, all included, and a ton of fun activities for every taste (also included).

I'm not much of a shopper but the other women rave abut the shops in Ojai and it's only abut a 20-minute drive to Santa Barbara (even closer to Ventura.)

Anyway, I'm not associated with the spa in any way other than I think of it as "My Happy Place."

Best,
Lisa

I'd go Boston or New York. Santa Fe is really nice too.

Nobody mentioned Atlanta (unless it is too hot).
O'Hare used to be the busiest airport in the US, now it's Hartsfield.

What type of shopping venues appeal to you? Do you want a mall, a quaint downtown, a mix of department stores and boutique shopping? Funky or traditional? A few years ago a friend told me I had to shop on Worth Ave in Palm Beach. Unfortunately, it was waaaay above my price range and I left very frustrated. Don't get me wrong it was fun to look but I wanted to buy!!!
