We would like to know of any great live shows to see in Vegas as we will be there in early September. Thanks.

Although I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the shows in Vegas, I am told that the Sigfried and Roy show as well as the Cirque du Soleil are outstanding and highly reccommended.

I found if you like a good follies type of show The ones at the Reviera is the best one for the money. It is reasonable and the show is in very good taste. My husband and I enjoyed it. Some are really very expensive.

You have got to see Cirque du Soleil at the Treasure Island Hotel. It is one of the best shows I have ever seen, including broadway, theater, movies, and the circus. This is simply the best bang for your buck anywhere. I was not impressed with the Sig and Roy show, nor the cost and there are some fun "second rate" shows, Splash was one of them, they guy who sings in Flash Dance is in it and I believe the original score was by Michael Jackson. Hope this helps.

My wife and I just got back from Vegas the other day. We got to see Siegfried and Roy, it was excellent. We did not have any problem with spending the $85 for each ticket. My parents saw Cirque du Soleil and they didn't think it was that hot. Hope this helps.

I heartily endorse Cirque du Soleil. My niece, age 7, loved it, my mother, age 68, loved it and my wife and I, mid '40s loved it too. No animals but great performers from all over the world. What I liked was that they had children's tickets at a lower price. We did not see S&R as we are not much into magic, saw their TV special and wasn't impressed but it all depends on one's taste. Friends of ours from Germany went and loved it. But prices are really high IMHO. Check the Las Vegas Advisor website for more up to date info. on shows and special deals. He last recommended Starlight Express.

Check out Las Vegas Online at vegasnet.com, then select Showroom and Lounge Guide. It shows who's appearing where. Who knows? Maybe your favorite performer or comedian will be in town! Names, dates and prices are listed under each hotel. We'll be going the first week in September and are planning to see Mystere at Treasure Island and maybe Starlight Express. If you are really into magic, go see Seigfred & Roy. Otherwise skip it.

The Danny Gans Show at the Rio costs about $40 and is the best show in town.

Cirque du Soleil's Mystere is hands down the best show in Vegas. I have been to most of them and Mystere is the only show i've paid to see twice.

Have Fun!!

if you want cheap take in the matinee show at the
stratosphere. if you get a las vegas this week or indise las vegas book found in most hotels flip
through it. i found a coupon for two free admissions
to either the 2pm or 4pm viva las vegas show only catch is you have to buy one $3.00 drink per person.
drink could be non alcoholic. they had a magician, a comedian, an elvis impersonator and a few song and dance type numbers. show was 1 hour long. also in those books i found a coupon for 4 free admissions to the stratosphere tower had to be used before 4pn.
we went to the 2pm show then up to the tower before the 4pm deadline tower is usually$7.00. dont know about other shows when i go to vegas, which is often because i have a son out there in the military
i look for cheap. hope i helped.

Definitely see Starlight Express at the Las Vegas Hilton. It's a show written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and it's great fun. (It's a musical about a contest to see which train is the fastest.) The actors portraying the trains wear roller skates and skate their races around the whole auditorium, built especially for the show. I would recommend EFX at the MGM Grand, but we saw it when Michael Crawford was playing the lead, so I'd have to say David Cassidy (Keith of the Partridge Family)who's playing the lead now, probably sucks, but that's my opinion.

Although I have heard Siegrfried & Roy are great, I have never seen the show because of cost. The EFX show, I don't know? I saw it, but the theater is so big and chairs do not face the stage. I left with a cramp in my neck and eye strain from trying to see the stage. Best show I've gone to is the Rio's Copacabana dinner show. Outstanding food, circular stage, chairs facing stage, and audience participation. Caesars Magical Empire dinner show is okay, the dinner could be improved, but great for kids.

HANDS DOWN THE MYSTREE SHOW IS THE BEST. EFX MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS AT A UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SHOW. SIG AND ROY WAS GOOD BUT YOU KNOW ITS A TRICK. MYSTREE WAS AMAZING PEOPLE THAT DID THINGS I DIDNT THINK THEY COULD DO.

Siegfried and Roy reminded me of an older gay Beavis and Butthead magic show. $375.00 for 5 people PLUS A TWO DRINK minimum and you could see where they hid some of the tigers before they made them "appear."

Cirque Du Soleil is basically a "French Circus": it's bizzar, wierd, magical, mysterious, entertaining, mystical, and a MUST SEE !!! You'll never see a "circus" act like this EVER in your life !!! I've heard that Danny Gans is the best show in town, well right AFTER Cirque Du Soleil.

There are the free ones too, you know. The Pirate ship vs. the English Warship in front of Treasure Island Hotel and the Volcano in front of the Mirage. Oh, the Freemont Street Experience in Downtown is one of my favorites, too bad it only lasts for 15 or 20 minutes.

See you there.

Cirque du Soleil's Mystere is the best show I have ever seen in Vegas. Saw EFX at MGM, did not enjoy it at all, was expensive, and David Cassidy was not very good. I was very disappointed. I enjoyed the "free" shows (Pirate ship @ treasure island & volcano @ Mirage.) more than EFX! Enjoy!

Agree with those who think the Sig and Roy show wasn't all that great. Over-rated, over-priced, overbearing!

You can find a complete updated list of all the things going on in Las Vegas at www.lvrj.com and click on the Neon button. I found this information to be up to date considering it's put out by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nevada's largest newspaper.

We saw Danny Gans at the Stratosphere last year, he was fantastic, now at the Rio. We thought the Copacabana dinner show there was great. Didn't care much for EFX but we there the same night as Mike Tyson's first fight out of prison and the parade of people in the casino after the fight was out of this world.
I thought the Magical Empire show at Caesar's was disappointing, especially after remembering the lady at a ticket booth thought "real magic" with Lance Burton(now at Monte Carlo) would be better. Definitely enjoyed Pirate Fight at Treasure Island, was worth getting to early for a good standing spot, esp. at night, Fremont St Experience is great too, Volcano at Mirage is dramatic at night.
Seeing the shows in Vegas is great and usually a lot cheaper than gambling.Oh yeah, King Arthur's tournament is colorful and fun with or without kids.
