trip out of nashville without a car
Hello everyone,
I am spending two weeks in Nashville in october, going to different conferences and conventions. But I have several days of in between.
I would like to take a trip from Nashville to a other city and spend one night there.
The trick is I dont have a car.
The greyhound could take me to for eksempel to Memphis, Knoxville, Atlanta.
Are these cityes pedestian friendly and safe for at one woman travelling alone?
Do you have any recommendations, where to go?
Thanks a lot
Ellen

Don't know about bus routes, but Chattanooga, TN is a great little city on the river with a very walkable downtown area and arts district. Plus free public transport in the downtown area. Only about 130 miles from Nashville and it looks like there's a bus station at the airport which will make getting into town easier.
Be aware that most city bus stations are in sketchy parts of town and you will encounter some interesting fellow bus riders. In general, only people of very limited means take intercity buses in the U.S. Doesn't mean it's unsafe, but may be intimidating to a single female traveling alone.

Are the greyhound stations in Nashville and Chattonooga ok. Is it easy to catch a cap there?
Thanks again
