The Breakers, Palm Beach

The last stop on our recent Florida road trip was The Breakers, Palm Beach. I initially struggled with whether to stay there or The Four Seasons Palm Beach, which gets equally good reviews.

I am so glad we chose The Breakers. I hadn't realized how distant The Four Seasons actually is from Palm Beach proper, while it is an easy walk into town from The Breakers. I love Four Seasons, but the grandeur of The Breakers really does make it a must-visit in my book.

Glad you enjoyed it. For about ten years we went every year in July. Our sister company stayed at the Breakers and we stayed at the 4S. We enjoyed the intimate size of the 4S. Pool and ocean are only steps away and really enjoyed the quiet elegance. We only went into PB once for dinner each week. They are very different but both are wonderful in their own way. Glad you had a great time.

I wondered if the sheer size of The Breakers would make it seem less personal but it was not an issue, only an enhancement for the excuse to explore the property.

We were there in June, which was off season, and I'm sure that helped. I might have felt differently about it if it had felt like a crush.

We noticed that the Breakers staff, across the board, was just impeccably trained, perhaps even above what I have experienced at some FS.

Good to hear that both properties are worth visiting.

Thanks for the report. It sounds like you chose well. I've always wanted to stay at the Breakers. Some day.
