The Big Shot, Las Vegas

Has any rode the Big Shot at the Stratosphere? I am curious to know if peope thought it was fun, scary, waste of time, a must, etc.

I would definitely say it is worth doing if you are at that end of the Strip. The views from up there are good too.

I wouldn't bother with the High Roller though (both rides are together at the top of the Stratosphere), that's much tamer.

I LOVE riding the Big Shot. No matter how often I go to Vegas -- and I go a lot -- I always try to fit in another fix. It's quick, but it's a fun rush and the best part are those few moments of anticipation (and anxiety!) right before you fly up. Agree with Dave re: High Roller. Definitely a waste of time.

I've rode it 3 times but I live here! I love to take friends when visiting from out of town. It's like being in an airplane without the protection! I imagine it is how hangliding would feel, shooting through the sky. Definitely not for the weak at heart but a must do for thrill seekers.

It's such a rush! They have those horrible pictures you can buy of yourself looking like a complete jerk as you're shot up. A must buy.

Thanks for the replies! I will definitely do it. I love thrill rides, but I have heard this one is pretty scary as far as thrill rides go. I have a little anxiety just thinking about it.

I've gotten anxious just reading about it!!
What exactly does this ride do?
If I hate roller coasters, will I hate this?

We leave next week for Vegas and riding the Big Shot is on our list of things to do. I rode it a few years ago and I literally thought I was going to throw up. I was shaking and hugging the wall when we got back inside. I did buy the picture (it was a hoot -- your cheeks are all sucked in). My husband wants to ride it this time so I am going to attempt it. Have fun!
