The absolute best way to get a deal on rental cars
So, what is it? I am looking to get a rock bottom price on a car in Honolulu. I only want it for one day and I want it cheap! Priceline? Travelocity? What else? What has worked for you?
Thanks in advance!

Mel, Put in your info on Travelocity, Expedia, Hotwire, and Orbitz and see what kind of prices you get. You can then plug a lower number in on Priceline and see if you can get it.
http://www.BiddingForTravel.com shows Honolulu winning bids of as low as $10/economy, $13/compact, and $21/convertible (and there are also higher prices on some winning bids). And taxes and fees increased the cost of these rentals by roughly 50 percent. These were all for multiple-day rentals--don't know if there's a difference when you bid on a one-day rental (might be higher because of the fixed cost of processing a rental).
Usual disclaimers apply--no vested interest in your using Priceline or any of the other services or the Web site mentioned, no guarantee you'll be able to match previous winning bids, yadda, yadda.
Anyway, hope this helps...
