Tell me about Point Clear AL
I'm still searching for a place to go to celebrate my husband's 65th b'day in Feb. The Marriott in Point Clear looks great. We would just be interested in relaxing in scenic surroundings, visiting small quaint towns, having some good seafood, etc. Would this be a good destination for us?

We went there 2 years ago. Fabulous. Fairhope was so quaint. Great shopping and restarants. The Marriott had fantastic service. If you and your husband are golfers-great course adjacent. The public course is half the price and a nice diversion. You can view the pier web-cam on-line.

Point Clear is a lovely destination. In addition to the adjacent golf course, there are several Robert Trent Jones courses in the area. And, yes, you'll find all kinds of good restaurants nearby.
(In looking for restaurants include Daphne, the "Bayway" or causeway as it's known locally, and even Gulf Shores in your search...assuming you'll have a car. Wonderful seafood!)
One thing. There's no guarantee it will be warm. February can be pretty cold down here, especially on the Bay.

Yes Jeanne, you're right. We went in February. Some good days, some cool. But overall warm. I guess it will depend wha luck you have! We did the Robert Trent Jones Trail and the adjacent course is one.
