suggestions needed for gulfport/biloxi/mobile/pensacola areas
im planning a june vacation for 4 days to the gulf coast area and will have a rental car at my disposal. ill be staying in fort morgan, al and flying into pensacola. i plan to go to some of the casinos in gulfport,ms and biloxi. im also interested in beach activites and was curious to know what are some of the best beaches to visit between gulfort, ms and pensacola, fl?
what are some other attractions i should check out? recommended places to eat, esp for great seafood that has a maritime dining atmosphere (i.e. view of the gulf shore while dining on an outdoor wooden patio deck with umbrellas, etc)
although ill be staying in fort morgan, al and am planning to visit the mississippi gulf shore, ive learned that there's a toll ferry that transports cars to dauphin island to save drivers from having to drive all the way up to mobile and back down to the gulf coastline. does anyone know how much the ferry costs?
id also like to find a nice beach that has a strolling pier or boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants, etc.
are there any tourism websites that i can check out for additional info or to request travel brouchers?

Beaches in Florida (Perdido Key, Pensacola Beach) and Alabama (Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Dauphin Island) are much nicer than beaches in Mississippi.
Dauphin Island Ferry is $30 round trip from Fort Morgan (http://www.mobilebayferry.com/).

Here's a few joints to stop and rest. Shaggy's is fun. You will have to get off I 10 and drive S to Highway 90. Dine outdoors on the water. Ocean Springs is a real neat town. Go to Washington. The Shed is fun also. Good luck.
Get off I 10 at Exit 2 at Bay St. Louis, MS and go E on Scenic Highway 90 to Trapani's for fine fresh seafood for lunch or dinner. Continue on Highway 90 to Shaggy's Harbor Bar and Grill across from the Pass Christian Yacht Club for good fresh seafood, cold drinks and nice music. wow, littleman, i wished i had had such a great list on my last trip to florida! (we flew into tampa and drove south to ft. myers and saw all the towns and beaches in between before taking off for key west)!
i was in pensacola a ton of years ago and loved the beach - it was nearly impossible to get our two daughters out of the water!! when you come from southern California and the ocean is generally around 60 degrees it was a special treat for them!

The Beau and Hard Rock are right next to each other....about a 3 or 5 minute walk between front doors.
You probably would need a car or use the shuttles to go to the rest of them.
On East of the Beau and Hard Rock are the Grand and the Isle of Capri.....these are about a mile or a bit more down the Beach Blvd.
The I.P. is due North of the Beau on the Back Bay.......about 1 mile. Also, the Palace is on the Back Bay (a tad less than a mile due North of the Isle of Capri). There is about a miles difference between the I.P. and the Palace(west to east along Back Bay). There is another small casino along this Back Bay route; and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it.
On West from the Beau is Treasure Bay which is actually in Gulfport.......about 3 to 4 miles maybe? Not a good at guesstimating mileage. Further West in Gulfport is the Island View.......
