ONE NITE IN NYC FOR BROADWAY PLAY

Looking for advice from locals or other theater travelers for a clean, reasonable hotel for just one night in NYC. We will proably arrive by train the afternoon of the performance and leave the next morning -- so we only need the basics for our short stay.

The Edison...newly renovated, clean, convenient to the theatre district, reasonable, great staff...they have a website...

We stayed at the Wellington--within walking distance of the theaters, clean but not fancy, and reasonably (for NYC) priced.

Ditto the above comments from Erin about the Edison. For the price, you can't beat it.

I recently stayed overnight for a job interview at the Quality Hotel, around 40th St. and Fifth Ave. I was sent there by the company, so I didn't choose it myself, but it was comfortable and inexpensive for the city. For my room it was $138 a night, still not cheap, but for Manhattan a decent deal. Also right near fabulous Fifth Ave. shopping, and not too far from B'way--a bit of a stroll or a cheap cab ride. It's part of the Quality Inn/Days Inn chain but much nicer than others. And the room had a great bathroom!!!
