Need feedback about Priceline for airline tickets...

Booking air for daughter LAX to HNL--
Priceline has best prices by $ 100 ..on United .
I've booked hotel on Priceline many times and always been happy with results.
Any comments on their reliability for airlines. Always worry there maybe a "catch" involved
although not sure what it could be...Point A to point B seems straightforward...

There may be pts c and D in between A and B. And flight times may not be optimal.

We bought tickets to Rome from Salt Lake City on Priceline and we did it because although we found the same price on two other sites, Priceline was the only one to guarantee their price. If the price dropped lower they would pay us the difference. We downloaded the tickets and are leaving in a week. Everything looks good but I'll let you know if we run into problems. We're flying on Continental.

Do you get to know the routing before you buy? I'm thinking perhaps from LA they make you go to San Francisco, Portland, or Seattle, instead of a normal nonstop flight to Honolulu?

Is this the name your own price option? or the price they give you on their site? I'm thinking if you already know it's $100 less, then it's the price they are offering on their website ( as opposed to name your own price...which you wouldn't know til after you bid).
If it's on their site, I see no problem.

If it's the name your price option , you still get to see how many stops are involved and have a bit of say as to what time of the day. I've used this option without a problem.
