My wallet got stolen in Las Vegas. How do I get home?
Last night my wallet got stolen and I do not have any other photo ID than my drivers license which got stolen. I am scheduled to fly back to Newark tomorrow morning. How do I get through all securities in the airport in LAS? I do have a police report but no photo ID.
Anything like this ever happened to any of you? How did you managed to get home?

This happened to a friend of mine last year, also in Vegas (although I think he found it before he left). Go to your hotel front desk and explain the situation. They should be able to issue you a document proving you are who you say you are allowing you to check in at the airport.
Also, call your airline and explain your situation. I'm sure they deal with this all the time.
Good luck.

Thanks. As you suggested I talked to Continental and they were very helpful. Police report, my other non-photo IDs, Marriot's receipt (they checked my photo ID on arrival, and the note on Continental's computer will do.

Even before 9/11 international travel made people realize the importance of having extra documentation in case of theft. (Without a passport you can be in deep water in some foreign countries).
I made photocopies (reduced size) of my passport and have copies in my wallet, in the lining (hidden) of each suitcase, and in my travel wallet.
Won't always suffice to get past some forms of security, but expedites document replacement and can establish credibility quickly.

This exact problem happened to a friend of mine. She lost her wallet in Vegas too! I can't remember the whole story but I remember she was instructed to go to a particular police substation. She proceeded there on a Sunday and it was closed! Since when do police have off on Sundays or is this some strange Vegas tradition!? Anyway she had to bang on the doors until someone finally opened up and got her what ever document she needed.
